EastEnders confirms tragic truth about Reiss' secret wife in devastating scenes
Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) finally discovered the truth about Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) wife in heartbreaking EastEnders scenes, though she remained adamant that they should break up.
In a previous episode, Reiss admitted that he was married in a tense showdown which left Sonia devastated.
As she threw him out of the house, he begged her to let him explain, but she refused to give him the opportunity.
The following day, Reiss was still determined to state his case, and tried every which way to make Sonia hear him out.
Eventually, it was Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) who offered him a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear.
As he expressed his disappointment at not having the chance to explain the full story, she gave him the opportunity to open up to her.
Having heard his side of the story, she approached Sonia herself, and urged her to listen to what he had to say.
Reluctantly, Sonia agreed, and Reiss was able to tell her the truth.
In devastating scenes, Reiss took Sonia to visit Debbie, who required full time care following a severe stroke.
Reiss explained to Sonia that, by the time he had found her in the bath, she had suffered a significant bleed on the brain.
He apologised for keeping her a secret from Sonia and explained that he hadn’t been able to find the right time to tell her, and soon it was too late.
He thanked her for giving him the chance to explain and admitted that he had really fallen in love with her.
Sonia admitted that this didn’t change anything between them, as she was unable to get past the secrets and lies.
Will Reiss ever be able to win Sonia back, or is this the end of things between them for good?
