EastEnders fans obsessed with incredible NTA stunt by The Six ahead of Christmas death
EastEnders fans have heaped praise on the BBC One soap for the impressive stunt pulled by the cast at the National Television Awards on Tuesday, 5 September.
The majority of the EastEnders cast attended the annual awards bash at London's O2 Arena, with the soap taking home the award for Serial Drama, while stars Danielle Harold and Bobby Brazier also both walked away with gongs.
However it wasn't just the soap's wins that fans were impressed by, as many were interested in the way the cast promoted the upcoming 'whodunnit?' Christmas storyline on the red carpet.
The storyline, which will take centre stage during the festive period, focuses on 'The Six' – Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).
The six actresses attended the NTAs together and walked the red carpet wearing the exact same colours they are each wearing in the promo shots for the Christmas storyline. They also made sure they were standing in the same positions as the promo photos on the red carpet.
Fans were left impressed by the stunt and took to social media to praise the EastEnders team. One fan tweeted: "This kind of coordination? Obsessed #EastEnders," alongside snaps of the six actresses.
"The six wearing their colours!!! #EastEnders," another person excitedly penned, as a third said: "The six and everything about them last night was just INCREDIBLE!!! #ntas #eastenders".
It wasn't only 'The Six' involved in the stunt either, as several male cast members got involved. In the teaser for the Christmas storyline, a male character is seen dead on the floor in the Queen Vic pub with the six woman surrounding him.
In the clip, the man can be seen wearing a suit with a pair of statement cufflinks. The cufflinks have appeared on-screen over recent months and it looks like whoever ends up with them is the one to lose their life during the festive period.
To continue teasing fans, EastEnders shared a snap of the cufflinks behind the scenes at the NTAs, with many actors trying them on as the identity of the murdered character continues to be kept under wraps.
Snaps shared on the soap's Instagram page showed Adam Woodyatt, AKA Ian Beale, posing with the cufflinks on, and Phil Mitchell star Steve McFadden also sporting them.
Other actors such as James Bye, Shane Richie, Scott Maslen and Danny Walters were also all snapped wearing the cufflinks, hinting that their characters are all potential murder victims.
