EastEnders fans rejoice over reunion for Jay and Lola amid shooting horror

EastEnders aired sweet scenes as Jay Brown and Lola Pearce finally reunited, four years on from their split.

Lola left Walford in 2015, before making her big return with Ben Mitchell and daughter Lexi this year.

During her absence, Lola split from Jay leaving him heartbroken, and making way for some super awkward scenes when she came back four years on.

But all was forgotten in the latest episode, as both Jay and Lola feared for their lives during Hunter Owen's attack.

Hunter had just shot Ben and was holding everyone in the pub hostage, unaware that Jay and Lola were upstairs.

Jay told Lola to hide in the bathroom and lock the door wanting to keep her safe.

But she wasn't going to let him put himself at risk, and refused to go in there until he joined her.

As the waited the siege out in the room, Lola finally dropped the confession that she was still in love with him.

She said: "I care about you Jay. I care a lot… I love you."

Jay acted as though he didn't know what she meant, so Lola made it super clear where her feelings lied.

As emotions ran high, Lola kissed Jay leading to him kissing her back and seemingly confirming a reunion.

Viewers raced to Twitter over the scenes amid the hostage drama unfolding downstairs, happy to see the couple finally back together.

One fan said: "Yay Lola and Jay, finally" as another tweeted: "OMG! YES LOLA & JAY JUST KISSED."

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
