EastEnders legend makes welcome return for death story
Recent EastEnders scenes saw the return of a beloved character to our screens amid a special day for dying Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold).
Lola, who has returned home after learning that there is nothing more doctors can do for her incurable brain tumour, was surprised by a visit from some of her closest friends.
They revealed to shocked Lola that they were bringing her a day at the races, as they planned to celebrate their very own ladies day.
With Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) in charge of the bets, it soon became clear that he had no idea what he was talking about, and needed assistance from a close friend.
It was then that Lola realised he was on the phone to none other than Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker).
Patrick left the Square several weeks ago after a big win on the horses, deciding that, as he was feeling lucky, he should go and track down lover Yolande.
He has since made one other brief appearance while video calling Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) after her terrifying car accident.
Lola was thrilled to see the legend on her phone, who explained that, had Rocky not messed up the tips, she would have won every bet.
Lola admitted that she wished Patrick was there, as Patrick confessed how unfair it seemed that she was in this position over someone of his age.

Whether or not Patrick will return to the Square before Lola’s inevitable demise remains to be seen, but it has been confirmed that the icon is already back on set.
A photo released on EastEnders’ social media accounts showed actor Rudolph posing in the Queen Vic set alongside fellow Walford stalwart Letitia Dean, who plays Sharon Watts.
In the background of the picture was the suit of arms that will be added to the pub by George Knight (Colin Salmon), so we know that it is a recent picture.
Will Patrick make it back in time to see Lola once more?
