EastEnders spoilers: Stacey Fowler in shock kidnap plot after Max Branning bombshell?
Stacey (played by Lacey Turner) and Max (Jake Wood) have a riddled past on EastEnders when it comes to their feelings for one another, with the mother-of-three cheating on two of her husbands with the ruthless businessman.
Tonight’s instalment of the BBC soap saw Stacey and Max take a journey down memory lane after the troubled character showed his former lover how he’d been self harming since losing baby Abi Branning to his estranged wife, Rainie Branning (Tanya Franks).
Whilst Stacey was helping Max through his emotions, her husband Martin Fowler (James Bye) was preparing a romantic meal for the pair to try and convince his wife to make amends with her cousin, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).
Martin wasn’t best pleased to hear his wife was helping Max, as it was only two years ago Stacey cheated on her husband with the Walford love-rat and it was clear the market trader was harboured with paranoia history could be about to repeat itself.

Although nothing romantic happened between Stacey and Max, Martin may not be too far off the mark as when the ruthless businessman begins a steamy affair with Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) in upcoming scenes, and his former flame isn’t best pleased.
Stacey and Martin will come to blows as it seems the mother-of-three’s still harbours feelings for Max and although she tries to convince her husband otherwise, the Slater icon will be riddled with jealously over her former lover’s relationship with her best friend.
However, teasers from tonight’s episode could be hinting at how Stacey will try to prove she still loves Max, involving a plan to snatch baby Abi back from Rainie.
After Max put his head down after drowning his sorrows, Stacey was seen putting a blanket over him and when he asked her what she was doing, his former lover replied: “It’s alright. Tomorrow’s a new day.”
“You’ll see baby Abi,” Stacey told the businessman, with Max murmuring: “That’s all I care about. Every time I close my eyes I see her and you.”
Although next week’s episodes will see Max turn his attentions to Ruby, could his words of a family set up with baby Abi and Stacey be left ringing in his former flame’s ears?
Stacey actress Lacey Turner, 31, will be taking a break from the BBC soap for several months as the EastEnders actress takes maternity leave.
Could a kidnap plot see Stacey flee the Square as Rainie calls the authorities on the mother-of-three for taking baby Abi without her permission?
Having seen the lengths his former lover would go to to prove her love for him, will Max help Stacey to leave Walford for a while until the dust settles in the aftermath of the kidnap?
Elsewhere on the Square, as one character leaves, another former resident’s return could be on the horizon.
Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) was last seen heading to a begin a new life in France with daughter Scarlett Moon after being found not guilty of murdering Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd).
Viewers know Janine well and truly got away with murder and set her sights on a new target with stacks of cash in her last scenes on the BBC soap five years ago.
Appearing on Loose Women yesterday, actress Charlie Brooks, 38, spoke out about the possibility of a future return for the iconic villain.
Asked if she could go back, Charlie replied: “Well, I could! I could, yes, potentially. I always say the same answer, never say never, you never know.”
“She’s in France doing something or other, swanning it up with Scarlett,” the actress quipped.
Could Janine really return to wreck havoc on the Square once more?
EastEnders continues Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
