EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt is unrecognisable from Walford days as he poses outside theatre | The Sun

EASTENDERS star Adam Woodyatt looks very different to his onscreen character ahead of his possible return to the BBC soap.

The actor – who stepped back from his long-running role as Ian Beale last year – sported a full beard as he attended a viewing of Roman Holiday at Theatre Royal Bath.

Adam, 54, sported a khaki t-shirt, a pair of sunglasses and a black cap in the selfie.

He went to support his pal Michael D. Xavier, who is portraying American journalist Joe in this musical adaptation of the classic Oscar-winning movie starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck.

The Sun revealed that Adam is in no rush to return to EastEnders after he has signed up for a new TV part.

The star has been cast for BBC Daytime programme B&B By The Sea, which is set in a guest house on the Northern Irish coastline.

Alongside Great British Menu chef Alex Greene, a number of celebs will come together to create a dish from local ingredients.

Among the celebs already signed up to the show are Richard Blackwood, Linford Christie and Deborah Meaden.

Now, Adam has joined the celebrity cast set to jet off to Antrim for what the BBC have described as a "personal journey of discovery".

"Each episode will see a different celebrity guest, all with connections with the coast, stay at the B&B," the programme description reads.

Adam was spotted filming at Roe Park Resort in Drumraighland alongside his former EastEnders co-star Larry Lamb.

It comes after Adam ruled out his return to EastEnders, despite previously saying he would return if he was asked to by the soap.

The former soap star cleared up any doubt on Steph's Packed Lunch, saying he had "no plan" to go back.

Previous reports stated that Adam never truly refused a comeback to the show following his January, 2021, exit.

Host Steph McGovern first asked him to explain the reasons for his departure from the soap in dramatic lines last year.

"I’ve kind of left, but not left. It’s kind of the way the storyline has gone, I’m not there", Adam replied. "I could go back and I could not go back! I don’t know.

"The speculation has been hysterical. I think everyone is always going to speculate. But there are no plans at the moment.”

Slipping into the skin of the EastEnders chef in 1985, Adam was one of the longest-standing characters in the programme.
