Ellen DeGeneres Reminded Demi Moore She's Still Friends With Ashton Kutcher Despite Everything Moore Described in Her Memoir
Demi Moore bared all in her memoir, Inside Out. Not only did she go over her difficult childhood, but she also discussed her marriages to Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher. And fans learned a ton about what really went on between her and Kutcher after they tied the knot.
Moore discussed her memoir with Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. And DeGeneres reminded Moore she’s still good friends with Kutcher. Here’s what happened.
Demi Moore wrote about her marriage to Ashton Kutcher in her memoir
Despite Moore being 16 years Kutcher’s senior, the two fell in love in the early 2000s and tied the knot in 2005, Elle reports. The two divorced in 2011, though. And Moore has since written about the ups and downs of her marriage in Inside Out.
According to Moore, her miscarriage with Kutcher that she had over a year into her marriage set off the marital strain. She claimed Kutcher also influenced Moore to start drinking again despite her sober status. Moore also noted Kutcher had threesome fantasies that Moore wanted to fulfill, as she wanted to please him.
“I put him first,” she wrote. “So when he expressed his fantasy of bringing a third person into our bed, I didn’t say no. I wanted to show him how great and fun I could be.”
Ultimately, Kutcher cheated on Moore during their marriage. Moore explained the threesomes she had with Kutcher caused Kutcher to justify the infidelity.
Ellen DeGeneres told Moore she’s still friends with Kutcher
Moore visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and the contents of her memoir were brought up.
“There’s a lot of sharing in this book,” DeGeneres noted. “A whole lot of sharing.” And Moore explained the book is about “overcoming,” and she didn’t want to make villainize any of the people she wrote about.
Then, the topic switched over to Kutcher. And DeGeneres reminded Moore and the audience that she’s friends with Kutcher, as they’re neighbors and see each other all the time.
“You know, I am friends with Ashton,” DeGeneres stated. “I’m friends with you. And I read this book, and like you say, it’s your experience. But you talk about that he was not faithful to you, that he had affairs. And then you talk about that he kind of instigated you having threesomes.”
Moore glossed over the fact that DeGeneres and Kutcher were closed. And she echoed the fact that she wanted to please him in her marriage and be everything she thought he wanted.
Moore assured DeGeneres she told Kutcher about the memoir before it was published
Moore certainly had a lot to say about Kutcher in her book, but she told DeGeneres she allowed Kutcher to know about it beforehand.
“So, you talk about Ashton,” DeGeneres said. “Have you talked to Ashton … before this came out?”
To that, Moore answered, “I have.”
We’re not sure exactly how Kutcher feels now that Moore’s book has gotten so much public attention. But he’s since stated that he and Moore are on good terms. And he also keeps in touch with Moore’s children she had with Willis, as he helped raise them.
“I love them,” Kutcher told Marc Maron’s WTF podcast. “And I’m never going to stop loving them, right? And respecting them and honoring them and rooting for them to be successful in whatever they’re pursuing.”
As for Kutcher and DeGeneres, we’re sure they’re still good friends, and we expect Kutcher to make more appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in the future.
