Ellie Kemper has ‘sad answer’ about ‘Office’ reboot, hopes for another possibility
If you were holding out for a reboot of “The Office,” Ellie Kemper said it’s probably time to move on.
The actress, 39, doubts the beloved comedy, which ran on NBC from 2005 to 2013, will have a reboot. She did, however, have something else in mind.
“Be honest,” a caller asked her on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” Thursday. “How annoyed do you get when people ask about an ‘Office’ reboot, and what are the chances of it actually happening?”
Though Kemper doesn’t find the question annoying, the “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” star said her answer is disappointing.
“Unfortunately, I don’t get annoyed at all when people ask,” she said. “I would love for there to be a reboot, but I don’t think there will be. So, that’s a sad answer, but maybe in like a reunion episode that would be fun.”
Kemper appeared on the series as perky receptionist Erin Hannon from 2009 to 2013. Last month, NBC revealed the show will leave Netflix in 2021 and be on NBC’s own streaming service instead, launching in 2020.
