Emmerdale bosses promise Meenas ‘judgement day’ won’t be ‘what fans expect’
Emmerdale bosses have promised fans that serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) will soon face her ‘judgement day.’
The soap villain, who has been secretly terrorising the villagers by going on a manic murdering spree, is currently front and centre of the show, as she plans to kill both her sister Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson).
However, Emmerdale’s Executive Producers Jane Hudson and Laura Shaw have now teased details of her anticipated downfall, revealing it won’t be predictable in any way and will keep viewers gripped until the end.
Speaking to OK! and other press outlets, they said: “Well, I think it's fair to say that judgement day for Meena is coming.”
They continued: “Whether she'll get away with murder or not, you're going to have to wait and find out.”
The pair also went on to reveal more about the upcoming storyline, explaining that while it’s only a matter of time before her crimes are uncovered, there will still be plenty of ‘twists and turns’.
The bosses explained: “There are still some more twists and turns to be had in this story – some that you probably won't see coming.”
They added: “I think we're all agreed that Meena can do pretty much anything, but yes, judgement day is coming and it won't play out quite as you expect.”
However, even after her exit Meena’s actions will have huge repercussions for the rest of the residents in the village.
Jane and Laura continued: “There will be a lasting effect on a lot of our villagers. [But] within the next few months, Meena will get what’s coming to her.”
This comes after Paige herself spoke about leaving the show and how much she’d miss playing the unhinged murderer.
Opening up in a brand new interview with Inside Soap, Paige explained that time is running out for Meena as she revealed the other villages are highly suspicious, marking the ‘beginning of the end.’
Speaking about her top-secret soap exit and what she’ll miss most about playing her soap alter-ego, Paige said: “I will miss everything because I love her.”

The star went on to say: “I think Meena’s hilarious, she’s got so much charisma, she’s so strange and odd.”
“She’s so much fun to play. Going to those dark places is really fulfilling but then there’s that slightly comedic edge.”
Paige added: “I love her flamboyant nature. I’ll miss everything about her.”
