Emmerdale spoilers: Arthur Thomas ‘removed from village’ as Laurel makes deadly discovery

Arthur Thomas’ (played by Alfie Clarke) bullying campaign against Archie Breckle (Kai Assi) is set to take a deadly turn in Emmerdale when Rishi Sharma’s (Bhaskar Patel) birthday celebrations end up in flames. However, when Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) discovers the awful consequences of her son’s actions, will she be forced to send her troubled son away?

Last year, Archie turned up in the village after his mum tragically died and the young boy was understandably traumatised.

The young boy was initially mute until Arthur struck up a friendship with Archie but it wasn’t long before Laurel’s son became jealous of the new arrival. 

Arthur’s jealousy turned sinister when the angry youngster tormented Archie while keeping the abuse secret from his mum and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson).

Laurel was horrified when she discovered the truth but initially kept quiet to protect her son before realising that being honest was the best thing Arthur could do.

In upcoming scenes, the boys’ rivalry has deadly consequences when the family go on a camping trip for Rishi’s birthday. 

Jai takes it upon himself to organise the trip but is saddened when he learns all of the camping sites are full.

But he soon comes up with an even better idea and decides the family should camp at Holdgate.

On the special day, it’s not long before Archie inadvertently riles up Arthur when he’s put on the same rounders team as Laurel. 

In a bid to get his own back on the boy, Arthur attempts to put him in a dangerous situation with fire but ends up hurting someone close to him instead. 

The pair are left outside on their own and Arthur suggests they light the campfire but the troublemaker has ulterior motives. 

However, the fire rages out of control and Dotty Thomas (Tilly-Rue Foster) is trapped inside a burning tent.  

Laurel rushes outside and cuts her young daughter out of the tent but she’s rushed into the doctor’s surgery for emergency treatment.

Jai demands answers from the boys and while Archie tells his dad the truth, Arthur lies to get himself out of trouble. 

Laurel is heartbroken by her son’s actions and opens up to Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) telling her she can’t take much more of Arthur’s behaviour. 

Realising she can’t protect her son anymore, Laurel tells the police the truth about Arthur’s involvement in the fire. 

How will the troubled youngster react when he realises his mum has betrayed him?

Laurel will be torn over her decision but her focus could shift back to Dotty if there are health complications from the fire. 

Before her mother got to her, Dotty was trapped in the burning tent for some time and Arthur’s actions could have deadly consequences. 

With the police involved, social services may be called in to analyse whether all of Laurel’s children are safe. 

If Arthur is deemed a threat to his younger sister, could authorities remove him from his mother’s care?
