Emmerdale spoilers confirm Harriet exit as DI Malones dead body disappears
Emmerdale vicar Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) will make a life-changing decision over the festive period.
Charles Anderson is shocked when Harriet informs him on Christmas Day that was her last service.
As Harriet heads home, she takes on last look at St. Mary's and removes her dog collar bracing herself for her new future.
Fans of the ITV soap know that Harriet has been considering applying a new role as a police officer.
The vicar told Charles she was keeping her options open after he found application forms for a new job at her home.
Charles wanted to talk to her about the Christmas services, but she seemed distracted.
"Thanks for coming round, I've been worried about you," Harriet told Charles, who's struggling with some family problems.
"I didn't come here to tell you my troubles," he replied.
"Oh, pity – that's what mates are for," Harriet stated. "I'm always ready to listen."
Charles quickly changed the subject though, commenting: "Thanks, but I think we should be concentrating on sorting out the Christmas services."
Harriet tried to brush off the topic.
"I'd rather help you through this stuff with your family if there's anything I can do," she responded.
Charles explained: "Not really. I had another sleepless night going over it in my mind and I think I'm better off just getting on with other things.
"I always tell the parishioners you shouldn't let gossip dictate you're life, decided I should listen to my own advice."
He later noticed the police application forms.
He asked: "What's all this? Looks like you're thinking of moving on yourself."
"I still haven't decided," she admitted. "Just keeping my options open."
Charles was shocked as he asked: "Are you sure about being ready to leave the church?
"Is that why you didn't want to talk about the Christmas services?"
Harriet answered: "I just thought it was better for you to organise the services the way you want this year.
