Kim Tate (played by Claire King) was a notorious character during the classic Emmerdale era, and in 2018 she returned causing carnage for every resident that dare to cross her. In recent weeks, ITV soap boss John Whiston spoke out about a new whodunnit storyline which is set to air later this year, and it seems fans needn’t worry about Kim’s fate. The Sun recently revealed the actress who plays her will be on screen for a while longer – but what really is her involvement in the Malone (Mark Womack) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) drama?
The scheming millionaire controls many people in Emmerdale and it seems she will add two new residents to that list.
This summer is set to see one person’s life hanging in the balance, but it won’t be Kim.
A source said: “Claire’s comeback has been a huge success so it’s a no brainer to keep her around.
“She’s loving playing Kim and there’s exciting stuff coming up for her.”

The actress’ contract renewal means she won’t be the character killed off, but that doesn’t mean she won’t play a part in who will end up in a coffin.
In previous months, ITV viewers have tuned in to see Cain go head to head with newcomer Malone.
The corrupt cop found himself in the Dales after his gun was used in a shooting.
After his initial appearance, Malone soon realised there were many people he could manipulate and utilise.
And it wasn’t long before he dragged Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) into his business.
But how could Kim find herself embroiled in this showdown?
Well, she owns a lot of farmland, which Malone could use in a bid to make more drug transactions.
Should she find out Malone has been making dodgy deals around Home Farm, she could very well pay a visit to Cain to find out what is going on.
With enough on her plate dealing with son Jamie Tate’S (Alexander Lincoln) wife, Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) going awol with granddaughter Millie, the last thing Kim wants is the police knocking on her door.

Kim and Cain have crossed paths previously, will she be able to help the bad boy get rid of the newcomer once and for all?
It comes after a possible upcoming storyline was teased by Mark Womack who plays Malone.
During an interview with express.co.uk, the actor spoke out about who he would like to work with.
“I’d like to work with Nat [Natalie J. Robb) – who plays Moira,” he revealed.

“That would be nice, she’s good. That would be quite interesting.”
When asked if something more than friends could go on between then, he ominously replied: “There could be!”
This would surely wind Cain up, could he take Kim up on her offer?
Emmerdale airs Monday and Wednesday 7pm on ITV.
