But it will all kick off next week when a woman called Jean announces to Harriet she’s the daughter of a man in the graveyard beneath Malone – and that she’s going to have him dug up.
And now it has been revealed that Will and Harriet will try to shift Malone’s body under the cover of darkness before Jean goes full steam ahead with her plan.
Upcoming episodes of Emmerdale will see Will grow concerned about Harriet following the revelation that the exhumation is going ahead.
Meanwhile, Harriet does her best to persuade Jean that the exhumation is a bad idea.
But Jean remains resolute that digging up her son is for the best, leading Will and Harriet to conclude they need to move Malone’s body sharpish.
Will suggests burying Malone tomorrow on a secluded plot at Home Farm and that evening, when darkness descends, Will digs Malone’s new grave on the farm.
Meanwhile, Harriet delivers her carol service but grows distracted thinking about Will and the grave.
Will Will’s plan to move Malone’s body end up going disastrously wrong?
Soap boss Jane Hudson warned that Malone’s body might have to be moved back in August.
She revealed: “I'm pretty sure given that it's a soap, that body won't stay buried there forever and there will be some reason later on why that body needs to be moved, and we can fully enjoy some dark, grisly, grave digging in the future!”
