Moira (played by Natalie J Robb) has begun to get her life back on track in Emmerdale, having recently reunited with husband Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley). For the foreseeable future, it seems the love-torn characters will be having a period of calmness to bring their marriage back from the brink of destruction. As the years pass, they could become just like another beloved couple in the village, but this could mean the mother-of-four will die when it comes for her to make an exit from the ITV soap.
If they carry on the course of true love, it seems the recently reunited lovers could take on the role of Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) and his late wife Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox).
The heads of the Dingle clan enjoyed an 18-year marriage together, which faced its fair share of trials and tribulations over the years.
Last May, the stalwarts decided to renew their vows after a period of separation, but it was to end in tragedy.
Shortly after confessing their undying love for one another, the mother-of-one passed away after being diagnosed with a rare heart condition.
This brought an end to the beloved villager’s time on the show, so could Moira suffer a similar fate if she and Cain last the test of time?
Speaking with Express.co.uk and other publications, Jeff, 50, and Natalie, 45, teased what was to come for their characters in the future.
Asked if Cain and Moira could be the next Zak and Lisa, the former said: “Potentially, but we’re still quite young.
“We’ve got another few years before we get there. The longer you stay together, the more things they throw at you, the stronger you become.
“I think that’s why the characters have got back together because of the adversity and the problems they’ve faced so far.”
It’s not all plain sailing

“I think they’ve been through so much, she just better not have another affair,” Jeff continued, with Natalie also having a say.
“There’s going to be bumps along the way. It’s not all plain sailing,” she continued, expressing a similarity to Zak and Lisa’s marriage.
It was actually the former who put his relationship with his wife in jeopardy when he had an affair with lodger, Joanie Wright (Denise Black).
This led to him marrying the latter before she realised he had unresolved feelings for Lisa and once his bride passed away, he was reunited with the love of his life.

Having gone through all this heartache, Zak was completely crushed when he discovered Lisa had died on their wedding day last year.
As a result, the soap stalwart left the village for Scotland, before making a brief return to Emmerdale in March.
With fans believing Moira and Cain’s relationship could replicate that of their elders, there is some plausibility in the former passing away in the future.
Having evaded death on several occasions, could a tragic sequence of events see her lose her life as her time on the show comes to an end?
Moira has suffered countless losses since she first stepped into the village with her late husband John Barton (James Thornton) in 2009.
As well as her former spouse passing away in a car crash, she has also said goodbye to her daughter Holly Barton (Sophie Powles) and her brother-in-law James Barton (Bill Ward).
The farmer’s nephew Finn Barton (Joe Gill) also died before the mother-of-four ended up murdering her sister-in-law, Emma Barton (Gillian Kearney).
Having suffered some much tragedy, will it be a cruel twist of fate that Moira leaves the show in similar circumstances, leaving Cain absolutely heartbroken?
Emmerdale continues Monday at 7pm on ITV.
