Emmerdale star Rosie Bentham gushed over her co-star Daisy Campbell on social media.

The soap star, 20, has played Gabby Thomas on the ITV Dales since 2016, but away from the village she enjoys a close friendship with her co-star, Daisy, who plays Amelia Spencer.

Daisy's Amelia is currently the focus of a high profile storyline after her character discovered she is pregnant.

Amelia is just 15 years old in Emmerdale, but in real life the actress is slightly older than her on-screen counterpart as she turned 19 on Thursday (July 28).

Rosie took to Instagram to swoon over her co-star on her special day with a sweet snap of the two showing the blonde-haired pair looked glam on a trip out.

She gushed in the caption: "Happy 19th birthday best friend. Love you the most."

Daisy appeared on Lorraine this week to discuss her character's harrowing time in the show.

She told host Ranvir Singh how "proud" she was after the plot has led to her getting involved with ITV's mental health campaign, Britain Get Talking.

Rosie said: "[Amelia] has got this whole vulnerable side coming out of her with this storyline and there's so much anxiety building up inside her.

"She's only 15 and she's got nobody to speak to so I think it really ties in well with the campaign."

She added: "I wanted this storyline to do justice to young teen mums. They're so amazing and I've had loads of messages from them. I'm doing this for them."

Daisy spoke about her birthday on the show and Ranvir praised the actress for her maturity, adding: "You've got a wise head on young shoulders."

Rosie and Daisy recently soaked up the sun together on a lush Ibiza trip.

The pair could be seen sporting teeny bikinis as they partied it up at an all-inclusive hotel.

Rosie donned a bright purple halter-neck bikini with a white slip around her waist, perching a pair of dark shades atop her brunette tresses as she beamed at the camera.

Daisy added a sheer ribbed white dress to her white bikini, which featured long sleeves and protected her curves from the heavy sun, while tucking her blonde hair into a sleek bun.
