First Trailer for Halo TV Series Teases New Beginning

The live-action take on the popular game will see the human forces of the United Nations Space Command facing off against the religious alien organization known as the Covenant.

AceShowbiz -The first look at the long-awaited “Halo” TV series is finally here. On Thursday, December 9, Paramount and 343 Industries treated fans to the first trailer for the upcoming series during the 2021 Game Awards.

Seemingly narrated by Dr. Halsey (Natascha McElhone), the trailer sees her preparing Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber) for his mission as humanity’s greatest hope in its war against the Covenant. “You’re special. In fact, I’m counting on it,” so she says in voiceover.

“While lost in the dark, but you give people hope,” she continues. “And I will always be with you. I see this as a new beginning.”

The footage doesn’t really give insight into what to expect from the show. Paramount previously revealed that the live-action take on the popular game “will take place in the universe” as the Halo games. It will also see the human forces of the United Nations Space Command facing off against the religious alien organization known as the Covenant. However, it remains unknown if “Halo” TV series will directly adapt the games or feature its own story.

Executive produced by Steven Spielberg, the series developed and written by Kyle Killen (“Fear Street: Part One – 1994“) and Steven Kane (“The Closer“). Kyle, however, left the project just before production with Steve series serving as showrunner only for the first season.

The 10-part first season will also star Bokeem (“Fargo“), Olive Gray, Charlie Murphy (“Peaky Blinders“), Bentley Kalu (“Edge of Tomorrow“), Natasha Culzac (“The Witcher“) and “Kate Kennedy“. They are also joined by Halo video game star Jen Taylor, who provides the voice of Cortana, Master Chief’ long-time AI companion.

Originally set for Showtime, “Halo” is set to arrive on Paramount Plus sometime in 2022.
