Former EastEnders star Ricky Norwood starring in new sitcom alongside Hollyoaks star Paul Danan and reality babe Lateysha Grace

FORMER EastEnders star Ricky Norwood is heading back to telly after bagging a role in a new sitcom.

The actor, who played Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubbs, is starring alongside fellow EastEnders star Khali Best and Hollyoaks actor Paul Danan in ‘Barberz’.

A source told The Sun’s Bizarre column: "Ricky has been reality excited to get back to filming.

“It's a great project and he's keen to make it a success. Producers are currently in talks with major channels."

Radio 1 DJ Charlie Sloth is at the helm of the project and insiders have described it as a modern day Desmond’s.

The source added: “There are some fun cameos in the pilot including Lateysha Grace and Paul Danan, it’s going to be great.”

This project marks Lateysha’s first foray into acting.

Meanwhile, Ricky was dismissed from EastEnders in 2014 after a video, allegedly showing him smoking cannabis and performing a sex act on skype, surfaced.

But he recently teased at a comeback saying he was “open to opportunities”.

When asked about the possibility of a return, he said: “I was a fan of Easties growing up and the fans know anything can happen in the Easties, so again, I’m open to opportunities.

“I’m looking forward to a couple of the next chapters that are about to happen. I’m excited for those.

“I’m never ever going to deny a phone call. I’ve got love, so much love for EastEnders, the production team, all the cast. We did some great work while I was there and they’re doing some great work now.”

Ricky also admitted his character’s storyline may not be as cut and dry as it seemed at the time.

His final scenes showed Fatboy had “died” after gruesomely being crushed in a car on Christmas Day but some have disputed he was even in there, as viewers never saw what Vincent Hubbard, played by Richard Blackwood, could see.
