Friends: ‘We’re doing equal work’ Rachel Green star speaks out on show’s pay gap
Friends is one of the most popular sit-coms to date with fans all over the world still watching the NBC show 25 years after it started. However, with the sit-com becoming so popular, fans will remember the stars were paid a hefty amount, especially towards the end of the show.
However, not all the Friends stars were paid the same amount, with the famous actress often being paid more than her co-stars.
The actress was paid an estimated $1million (£774,265) per episode for the show’s final season in 2003.
This amounted to a staggering $22million (£17,033,830) dollars per season.
However, some of the male actors were paid less.

Now, Rachel Green Actress Jennifer Aniston has spoken out about how the differences in pay made her feel.
Speaking to The Radio Times, the star revealed: “I’m aware that I have had a pretty easy time in terms of my experience in the business.
“But even back on Friends, it wasn’t so much about women being paid the same as men – some of the women were being paid more.
“It was more about, ‘we’re doing equal work and we all deserve to be compensated in the same way.’”
The award-winning actress went on the reveal she didn’t feel good about the pay differences.
She added: “I wouldn’t feel good going to work knowing someone was getting x amount and I was getting something greater.”
This comes after comedic actress Jennifer Coolidge, who guest starred as Amanda Buffamonteezi spoke out about her time on the show.
Friends fans will remember Jennifer’s character Amanda as Phoebe’s bolshy rather annoying ex-roommate who Phoebe Buffay (played by Lisa Kudrow) and Monica Geller (Courteney Cox) had been desperately trying to lose contact with.

Jennifer added: “A very glamorous set, I have to say, it didn’t feel like a sitcom. It really did feel like a movie set. Everyone had a very good looking entourage.”
The character, who floated in an out of both British and American accents was known for her rather strange one-liners including “touch my abs, I don’t exercise at all”, and “smell my neck, it’s not perfume, it’s me”
However, none of these were ad-libs despite Jennifer being well-known as a comedic actress.
