Game of Thrones series finale predictions see fans speculate on show ending

The battle for the Iron Throne is about to come to a bloody and charred conclusion.

Game of Thrones finishes its eight-season run with its final episode tonight, with fans eagerly anticipating how the HBO fantasy epic will bow out following the game-changing penultimate episode .

The previous episode, The Bells, saw Daenerys Targaryen unleash Fire and Blood on the capital city King's Landing and crush her enemy Cersei Lannister once and for all.

However, her bloodthirsty actions caused major shock and disillusionment for loyal followers Tyrion Lannister and Jon Snow, with others like Arya Stark barely managing to live through the carnage.

So where does the show go next?

Fans have taken to social media to give their predictions on how the series will wrap up.

One user tweeted: "My prediction for tonight is that Tyrion kills Dany by poisoning her wine glass. After what he witnessed he can't in good conscience side with her again and let her rule. He wants Snow at the throne."

Another gave a few guesses:" Dany is pregnant with Jon’s baby – Or her dragon is pregnant – arys’ poison is used somehow – Tyrion doesn’t make it – King’s Landing/Iron Throne is abandoned – Jon goes back to the North and is reunited with Ghost."

One fan thinks Arya will take action: "My prediction for tonight. Arya kills Daenerys."

Another said: "My prediction for Game of thrones Bran takes over the dragons mind kills Danny Jon becomes king, melts down the throne Arya becomes Jon's Kings Guard"

One concluded that fans won't be happy despite their own guesses: "Jon Snow kills Daenerys out of necessity. -Arya takes the throne. -That Lannister guy lives. -The ending could literally go in any direction and the fanbase will still find something to complain about."
