Glastonbury sign language interpreter steals the show during performance
One Glastonbury sign language interpreter stole the show on Friday night after the Foo Fighters made a surprise return to the Pyramid stage.
The enthusiastic translator really went for it during one of the band’s iconic songs.
The Foo Fighters were not actually billed to play this year, but they managed to wow the crowds with their hour-long set.
However, it wasn’t Dave Grohl that caught the attention of BBC viewers at home – but the British Sign Language interpreter on television.
Taking to Twitter to praise the sign language translator, @avc33019784 shared: “Watching Foo Fighters on iPlayer and the star of the show is the lady doing the sign language talk about going for it! This woman is a hero.” (sic)
@thom__james said: “And because we love sign language, here’s this phenomenal signer here, doing her best with #TheChurnups… I mean, @foofighters at #Glastonbury.” (sic)
@WyesideWarmers added: ” Big up to the sign language lady amazing stuff if only more were like this #BSL #britishsignlanguage #signingcommunity #glastonbury2023.”
@MartinFletch went on to say: “This BBC sign language lady is an absolute delight #glastonbury2023 #foofighters.”
“You can tell Sign Language lady definitely enjoyed signing along to #FooFighters. #glastonbury2023,” @SuzeHopper1 tweeted.
