West Ham defender Kurt Zouma has received backlash from fans and calls for him to be dropped from the team following the animal cruelty, and supporters booed him from the stalls on Tuesday night. Speaking to London Mayor Sadiq Khan on Good Morning Britain the following morning, ITV presenter Richard Madeley was baffled by David Moyes’ decision to stick with him for the entirety of Wednesday’s match.

Madeley condemned the decision to play Zouma against Watford after The Sun obtained a video of the footballer kicking and slapping his pet cat.

He asked Khan: “Would you agree it was shameless for West Ham to play him last night?

“It’s the definition of shameless, and contempt of public opinion, including their own fans.”

Zouma received constant booing throughout the match, and fans jeered him from the stalls whenever he made contact with the ball.
