Gogglebox star confesses she doesnt have a TV despite five years on show

Gogglebox's Helena Worthington has been on the show for half a decade now – however, she's just revealed that she doesn't actually own a TV.

The 29-year-old joined the show's cast in 2017 alongside her parents Alison and George. Speaking in an exclusive interview with OK! at the TRIC Awards on Tuesday, she said: "I don't really watch telly at home, I don't have a TV but [Gogglebox is] how I catch up on what's going on.

"I go to my mum's and use her electric to watch the telly. It's a pretty good gig because you get to sit down and eat food and watch telly."

"I always thought that I'd never be able to do that with any sort of kudos but you can now," she added. "It's great!"

Helena's mum Alison, who has also been with the show for half a decade, said that it's "lovely" to get together with her family once a week to film Gogglebox. "There's no getting out of it for Helena.

"She has to come and see her mum and dad," Alison said, with Helena adding: "Well, it takes an hour on the bus for me so it's too much."

The Worthington family joined the Gogglebox cast for series 10 alongside fan-favourites Pete and Sophie Sandiford. Both families have been on the show for 11 series – although they're not the longest-serving cast members, with Stephen Webb and the Siddiquis being with Gogglebox since the very beginning.

Earlier this year, Helena's three-year-old son Erwin, who she shares with her partner Daniel, made a surprise appearance on the show. In the episode, the toddler is seen playing and chatting to his mum and grandparents.

The family picked up the TRIC Award for Best Entertainment Show on behalf of Gogglebox during Tuesday's awards. They beat the likes of I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, Strictly Come Dancing, Have I Got News For You, and Bradley & Barney: Breaking Dad in the same category.

Other winners at this year's TRIC Awards included A Place in the Sun, Good Morning Britain, Emmerdale, The Chase, The Peter Crouch Podcast, and Roman Kemp. OK! columnist Judi Love co-hosted the event alongside Robert Rinder, while fundraiser Kelsey Parker, Coronation Street 's Charlotte Jordan, Emmerdale 's Jeff Hordley and Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid were spotted walking the pink carpet.

EastEnders star Danielle Harold picked up the TRIC Award for Best Soap Actor, thanks to her performance as Lola Pearce Brown. She said goodbye to the soap earlier this month, telling OK! on the red carpet she was "just taking it all in at the moment".
