Good Morning Britain fans confused over changing weather during live coverage
Good Morning Britain fans were a little confused during the latest episode of the morning show.
Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid were hosting live from the studio, awaiting an interview with current Prime Minister Boris Johnson ahead of the General Election vote.
The presenters panned over via a camera link to Ranvir Singh who was waiting outside 10 Downing Street, discussing the last day of campaigning.
Also reporting from location was reporter Jonathan Swain in Leeds, where Boris was helping load up a van with milk for the locals.
It wasn't long before he headed off to apparently deliver said milk, as GMB waited to learn if he would be coming on.
But viewers were slightly distracted from all the drama in politics, after noticing something about the different reports.
With Ranvir and Jonathan reporting live before 7am, it was pretty dark outside with the sun yet to rise.
Both were wrapped up warm from the cold, but back at the studio things were a little different.
The backdrop of London behind Susanna and Piers was really light, with the sun shining.
It showed daylight, despite the fact the coverage moments earlier was pitch black.
The backdrop is known to be fake, but viewers believing it to be real were confused at how the weather could be so different.
One viewer tweeted: "How is it still dark here & the sun is shining at #gmb ? That’s gotta be a fake backdrop right?"
Susanna and Piers realised viewers were confused and decided to set the record straight.
They confirmed it was a fake backdrop of the city, and that it wasn't really that light outside.
Susanna then added how the screen is usually darker, but the lights from the Christmas trees in the studio made it seem brighter.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
