Great British Bake Off 2020: Noel Fielding’s age has seriously floored fans
Noel Fielding casually hinted at his age during Great British Bake Off 2020 last night and after a quick Google, fans are floored.
Last night, the remaining Bake Off contestants dived head first into 80s week, making quiches, doughnut fingers and ice cream – despite the scorching summer heat during filming.
In turn, during a comical skit with Matt Lucas, The Mighty Boosh star – who welcomed his second child with partner Lliana Bird last week – the pair alluded to the fact they were nearly 50.
Referencing 80s children’s TV series Emu’s All Live Pink Windmill, which featured Rod Hull and his Emu puppet running their own television station, Noel and Matt started stomping, which confused the younger bakers left in the competition.
‘Yeah, that joke only works if you’re over 45,’ quipped Matt.
In turn, ‘Noel Fielding age’ filled up Google searches across the nation, stunning fans of the comic when they discovered he is 47 and Matt is just a year younger at 46.
Right?
Noel’s age aside, it was an emotional night in the tent, as per.
Lottie Bedlow, 31, narrowly missed out on next week’s semi-finals after her ‘underwhelming’ ice cream cake was brutalised by judge Paul Hollywood.
After a teary exit, the pantomime producer penned a heartfelt letter to fans, urging aspiring bakers to sign up for the 2022 series.
‘Where to start?!’ she wrote. ‘What an amazing ride this has been. Thank you so much to everyone for your incredible and unexpected love and support – it has meant the world to me to react to all your messages and to see you trying out my bakes!
‘I came out of the tent feeling more confident in my baking skills than I ever thought possible and that was all down to the tireless encouragement and coaching from the other bakers, judges, presenters and crew.
‘I love you all so very much. To anyone thinking of applying: DO IT!’
Next week’s semi-final sees the return of Dessert Week where challenges will include a jelly-injecting showstopper and Laura facing a disaster.
Great British Bake Off airs weekdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
