Holly dramatically throws herself on floor after This Morning competition fail

This Morning ’s Holly Willoughby threw herself onto the studio floor in despair after a caller finally got through to take part in their competition Spin to Win – only to fail at the first question.

To play the game, a viewer is called up by hosts Holly and Phillip Schofield, and upon answering the call has to give the competition password.

They then have to answer a question about something that happened earlier on in the programme.

But the presenters were struggling to get a caller to pick up their phone, and when one caller did, instead of sharing the password she said “It’s me”, before appearing to drop the f-bomb.

“How could this go so wrong?” Phil mused, as they awaited someone to get a chance to spin the wheel.

Ten unsuccessful phone calls later, a perplexed Holly asked: “Are we on a different channel here? Are we off air?”

Phil and Holly finally got caller on the line who successfully said the password “goldfish”, but when she was asked for the colour of the van that they had driven earlier on in the show she got it wrong.

This prompted Holly to pretend to collapse on the floor and bury her face in her hands.

“Look what you’ve done?” Phillip joked, as Holly remained on the floor in despair.

Holly was willing to give the guest a second chance, but she gave another wrong answer, so Phillip started shouting at her to say the correct colour of “yellow”.

The prizes on offer included a trip to the Canary Islands, £2000, and a trip to Bali, which is what the viewer eventually won after Phil gave the wheel a good spin.

“Thank you for being in,” Phil said. “And thank you for not swearing.”

“Have a wonderful time,” Holly added, before sharing a sigh of relief and laughing: “I feel like I need to go to Bali after that.”

“I feel like I’ve been and come back,” Phillip quipped.

Friday hosts Eammon Holmes and Ruth Langsford take over the wheel on tomorrow’s show.

This Morning airs on weekday mornings at 10am on ITV.
