Holly Willoughby admits she'd quit This Morning if Phillip Schofield left
Holly Willoughby has admitted that she would leave This Morning if her ‘TV husband’ Phillip Schofield quit the show.
Phil’s place on the show has come under the microscope of late, following allegations that multiple ITV presenters had issued complaints about his behaviour.
It was also claimed that the 57-year-old’s relationship with Holly, 38, was becoming ‘strained’.
And amidst the drama, Holly suggested that his departure could see the end of This Morning as we know it.
In a clip from tonight’s Shopping With Keith Lemon, the Celebrity Juice stars spoke about Holly and Phil’s partnership.
Keith asked: ‘So we see you every day with your TV husband, Schofield. What would happen if Schofield left This Morning? Would you stay or would it depend on who it is?’
Holly – who has hosted alongside Phil since 2009 – said: ‘We said right from the beginning that if either of us didn’t do it, we wouldn’t want to do it.
‘I can’t imagine This Morning without Phil.’
She added that she feels like she’s been hosting This Morning ‘forever’, and that Phil and Fern Britton were ‘her’ This Morning presenters.
This comes after Phillip finally addressed the reports of a rift with Holly, rubbishing any rumours of bad blood.
He told Mail On Sunday: ‘Can you imagine a feud between us ever happening? It’s not as if we have to defend anything.
‘It’s a shame… We are so open on the show, we are so open online and we go on holiday together.
‘Holly is the sister I never had, we think at the same speed. It’s so organic… it’s a shame.’
As well as presenting This Morning together four days a week, Holly and Phil began hosting Dancing On Ice together in 2006, and will return for a new series in January.
The pair are close friends outside of work and holiday with each other’s families every summer.
