How Each Disney Princess Movie Is Represented in Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World
With a handful of fan-favorite princesses included in Disney’s official lineup, some movie moments, in turn, appears throughout Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World.
That includes restrooms inspired by Tangled and a dining experience directly in the West Wing from Beauty and the Beast. Here’s how Disney added some princess movie magic into their theme park.
Breakfast with the Disney princesses at Magic Kingdom at Cinderella’s Castle
While Disneyland features Sleeping Beauty’s castle, the Orlando theme park has Cinderella’s castle as their iconic landmark. This building is also the location of Cinderella’s Royal Table, where fans can dine with characters from movies like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Aladdin, and, of course, Cinderella.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and other Fantasyland attractions
As one of the newer attractions in Fantasyland, this thrill ride is inspired by the characters and scenes from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. There’s music from the animated film, including “The Silly Song (The Seven Dwarfs’ Yodeling Song.)”
Inspired by the fantasy of Disney films, several princesses and scenes from their movies appear in the Fantasyland section of the theme park. Ariel’s Grotto and Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid tells the story of the red-headed mermaid-turned human from the 1989 musical movie.
One section of Fantasyland features the Beast’s castle with the ballroom and the “West Wing” featured in Beauty and the Beast. Enchanted Tales with Belle brings fans directly into Belle’s library via a magic mirror.
In response to the Black Lives Matter movement, Disney announced that their Magic Kingdom attraction, located in Frontierland, would be getting an overhaul. Splash Mountain will soon feature the bayou and characters from the animated film, Princess and the Frog. More information regarding the changes will presumably be announced in the coming months.
The ‘Tangled’ restroom area in Fantasyland
In 2013, Disney added an exciting new aspect to their Magic Kingdom theme park. Guests in Fantasyland can visit the Tangled restrooms, themed like the kingdom from Disney’s animated feature film, Tangled, released a few years prior. Pascal may even be hiding somewhere near the buildings.
Several Magic Kingdon rides inspired Disney movies
Although Disney princess movies inspire rides, sometimes, rides inspire movies. That includes the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, featuring aspects of the Magic Kingdom attraction.
There’s also The Haunted Mansion movie with Eddie Murphy, inspired by the Disney World and Disneyland attraction.
Most recently, fans learned of the upcoming Jungle Cruise-inspired movie of the same title, featuring Emily Blunt and the Rock as the main characters. Although it was delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, The Jungle Cruise is set to premiere in theaters on July 30, 2021.
