Jack reaches out to Denise to help struggling Amy in EastEnders
Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) has taken Denise Fox and Jack Branning’s (Diane Parish and Scott Maslen) recent split really badly in EastEnders, and tonight Jack resorted to desperate measures in order to help his daughter.
The detective was horrified to find Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) banging on his door, terrified after receiving a distressing phone call from Amy.
He raced up to her bedroom to find his distraught daughter curled up on her bed, having smashed up her bedroom.
After spotting the shards of glass from her broken mirror, he instantly began panicking, concerned that she had turned to self-harm once more.
Once he was sure that she wasn’t hurt, he brought her a cup of tea and tried to talk to her, but found it difficult to connect with the teenager.
Realising that she wasn’t going to open up to him, he called in a favour from wife Denise.
Despite their blazing row a few days ago over the revelation that Denise had kissed Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), Denise was quick to rush round and help Jack support Amy.
It soon became clear that Amy blamed herself for the breakdown of Jack and Denise’s marriage, having kept the secret to herself for several days after finding out.
Jack assured her that it wasn’t her fault, and that thy both still loved her and just wanted her to get better.
This seemed to help Amy, who later joined them downstairs for a movie.
Having ordered a take away, Ricky (Frankie Day) and Amy asked if Denise could stay for dinner to which Jack agreed.
Will Jack and Denise be able to repair their relationship for the sake of the kids, or has Denise’s mistake driven a wedge between them for good?
As Amy struggles with the tension in the house, will they find a way to help her through this difficult patch?
