Strictly Come Dancing contestant Jamie Laing has opened up about just how tough he’s finding his dance floor experience, confessing the show is “scarier than a bungee jump.”

In an exclusive interview with new magazine, Made in Chelsea star Jamie, 32, also admitted to huge pre-show nerves that leave him feeling sick before he heads out in front of the judges.

He said: “The whole thing is exhilarating, fun, intimidating and terrifying. I’ve never experienced anything as scary as it. Ever. And I’ve done bungee jumps and all sorts of things.”

Recalling how he felt before the very first performance alongside pro partner Karen Hauer, Jamie continued: “Beforehand, I honestly thought I was going to throw up. It is so scary, I can’t even begin.”

He’s since danced twice in front of the nation, finding himself in the dreaded dance off against eventually eliminated contestant Jacqui Smith.

Plus, he’s faced some pretty tough scores and feedback from the three judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Head Judge Shirley Ballas.

However the popular reality star told new that the judges’ feedback has just made him more determined to go out and impress each week.

He added: “All I want to do is go back and dance and do it again and again. I’m now so competitive. I want to dance for the rest of my life and prove that I can actually do it.”

And he’s certainly putting in the work in the training room, with Karen putting him through his paces to perfect each routine – and he’s got the blisters to prove it.

Jamie explained: “Karen and I are pretty ruthless. Every day this week we’ve got back at 9.30pm and we start at 10am. The blisters are bad.”

“I woke up the other night and my feet were honestly walking away from me as they were so sore. I said, “Please come back, guys, I need you!” You’re using parts of your body you’ve never used in your entire life.”

However, Jamie, who is in a relationship with Made in Chelsea co-star Sophie Habboo, continued to say that their rehearsals have started to pay off as he’s already noticed changes in his body.

“I’m a little bit skinnier, which is good. My girlfriend says to me, “Oh, you look skinnier!” So that’s sweet. I never eat fried chicken, but I had two portions yesterday. I’m literally eating as much as I possibly can.”

“It’s definitely harder than I thought, but it’s also amazing. It’s an insane experience.”
