Jeremy Clarkson fell victim to one of Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s pranks during the 18th season of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. The busy Geordie duo have been getting ready for their ITV show which is set to return this weekend. In a short teaser clip, Jeremy is left visibly annoyed after soil protestors gathered around his farm holding placards that stated: “Save our turf, save the earth” and “Your name’s mud,” much to the amusement of Ant, who was giggling from his makeshift studio after he’d helped stage the whole thing.
After the TV presenter pulled up to his Diddly Squat Farm Shop, Ant said with excitement: “Here he is! Here he is!
“He looks very unimpressed,” he told ITV viewers as he sat hiding in a studio.
Jeremy is seen telling one of the protestors: “One thing I know about soil is you can’t hurt it.”
But the protester snapped back: “Well there is actually proof.”
Dec, who was outside posing as protesters while his co-star directed from the studio, showed no fear when Ant pushed him to taunt the quiz host.
Speaking to his pal through a secret earpiece, Ant cheekily requested: “Give us a little taunt Dec.”
Making reference to Jeremy’s stint on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Dec shouted through his megaphone: “Er, maybe you should phone a friend?”
The TV host, who was visibly raging, stared with his mouth wide open at the long-haired campaigner, who was none other than his hidden Geordie pal.
Ant then requested: “Okay, you can go with the handcuffing please.”
“Here he goes, here he goes,” he told ITV audiences with excitement.
In the scenes that followed, a fake protester then attached himself to Jeremy’s clean black Land Rover with handcuffs.
The protester yelled: “Oi guys!” before others began to cheer while Jeremy is left aghast over the event.
Unable to keep his composure, Ant is seen laughing hysterically at the former Top Gear star who is completely clueless to the prank being played.
In previous episodes, the popular pair have provoked stars including Gordon Ramsay, Bradley Walsh and James Corden with hidden-camera stunts on the ITV programme.
With some of the nation’s favourite celebrities being playfully mocked, the Limitless Win hosts know a thing or two about pranks and continue to leave the viewers in hysterics.
Hosts Stephen Mulhern, Andi Peters and Fleur East are getting ready to bring back all the Saturday Night Takeaway classics, from Ant vs Dec and On-Air Dares to Singalong Live and The End of the Show Show.
There will also be some exciting new segments, such as “Kiddi-eoke” and Polter Guys, a weekly miniseries that will see Ant and Dec become ghostbusters.
Musicians Michael Buble and George Ezra will both perform for the show’s End of the Show Show, which sees a famous singer perform while Ant and Dec cause mischief in the background.
Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway returns Saturday 19 on ITV at 7pm
