Jo destroys Kathy and Rocky's wedding in vicious revenge in EastEnders
As Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and Rocky Cotton’s (Brian Conley) wedding day dawns in EastEnders, we can only imagine what chaos is set to ensue…
No soap wedding day is ever smooth, but judging by the rocky (if you’ll pardon the pun) road they’ve travelled to get to this point, you’d forgive us for wondering if their big day may be somehow cursed.
As a hopeful Kathy excitedly prepares to say ‘I do’, Rocky struggles to muster up any positivity after the events of his stag do. When Kathy learns of his misfortune, she feels equally dejected, and begins to have second thoughts about the whole thing.
‘[She’s feeling] very apprehensive,’ actress Gillian Taylforth revealed. ‘She’s not quite sure, because she’s found out something that’s upset her enormously.
‘Yet again, he’s done this to her and hurt her, so she doesn’t even know if she’s going to go through with it.’

After talking it over with Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), she receives another visitor who gives her a new perspective.
‘Ben comes up with a really lovely surprise, that changes her mind, and she thinks, “You know what, lets do it!”’ Gillian explained.
Meanwhile, Rocky finds himself waiting impatiently at the registry office.
‘He’s very anxious, as any bridegroom would be, and just worried about it,’ actor Brian Conley explained. ‘Worried that it’s all going to go smoothly. I’d love to dish it all out for you but his head is exploding with all sorts of stuff at this moment in time.’
Unfortunately for him, things don’t go very smoothly at all, as an unexpected visitor appears, turning his already bad day into a complete disaster.
Rocky’s ex-wife Jo Cotton (Vicki Michelle) makes another shock appearance, much to Rocky’s horror.
‘He’s had issues with his ex wife Jo and he believes all that’s taken care of now, all sorted out,’ Brian explained.
Things only get worse as Jo drops a bombshell, leaving Rocky, who is still anticipating Kathy’s arrival, horrified.
‘Kathy thinks Jo’s out of the picture now’ Gillian teased, ‘and she thinks that’s it, they’re going to live happily ever after without her in the picture, she’s going to be well away from it all.
‘But unfortunately, she does turn up, with an agenda. She’s got more things to say, which aren’t going to be very nice for Kathy.’
As Rocky tries to take in the news, Kathy finally arrives to marry him.
Will they make it down the aisle, or will Jo’s news put a stop to it once and for all?
