Juliet collapses in Hollyoaks after receiving devastating cancer update
Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) is set be left heartbroken in Hollyoaks next week, just shortly before brother James’(Gregory Finnegan) wedding, as she receives an update from doctors.
The popular character, as viewers know, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and has been undergoing treatment ever since in a bid to fight the disease.
Despite being told that her treatment was working, Juliet was informed by doctors that she needed a stem cell transplant due to her cancer being aggressive, but a kidney infection led to her being unable to go through with the procedure.
Upon returning home to the village, she kept this information from her loved ones, with Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) subsequently spilling the beans, but the couple’s attention was soon elsewhere when Juliet, who was told to isolate, picked up norovirus from her girlfriend.
The past few weeks she has spent recuperating in the hospital, but Juliet is excited about the prospect of returning home in upcoming scenes, though James and Leela Lomax (Kirsty Leigh Porter) don’t want her to get her hopes up.
Peri, meanwhile, pays a visit to the hospital, just as the doctors arrive to speak to Juliet, who reveal that Jules is all clear from norovirus and can therefore return home.
Juliet is delighted, but her happiness is short-lived as the doctor explains that her kidney function hasn’t improved like they hoped it would.
The news is a devastating blow for Juliet. But is there more heartbreak to come? It certainly seems that way, with Peri struggling to come to terms with the news her girlfriend has received.

Juliet, however, is determined to focus on something positive, roping in Romeo (Owen Warner) to throw a party, provided none of their friends have any infections. Peri is wary of such a thing, but she soon realises it’s what Jules needs.
Attention soon turns to James wedding, with the lawyer marrying Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) in a pretty perfect ceremony after switching outfits with his groom, donning a rainbow-coloured tracksuit.
Juliet enjoys the day, and shares a special moment on the dancefloor with James, which ends in heartbreak as she collapses from exhaustion.
Will she be okay?
