Kill Bill: Volume 3 could happen as Quentin Tarantino talks sequel
It’s been 15 years since the second part of Kill Bill hit cinemas – but it seems The Bride isn’t done with her murderous spree just yet.
Quentin Tarantino has admitted that he and Uma Thurman have been discussing the possibility of Kill Bill: Volume 3 – queue a generation of fanboys and girls losing their minds.
The director confessed that while he isn’t sure if he will make a third installment of the martial arts film, he has been discussing the possibility with its leading lady Uma as recently as last week.
Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Tarantino, 56, said: ‘Me and Uma have been talking about it recently, frankly, to tell you the truth,” he said about a possible Kill Bill Volume 3.
‘I’m not sure I’m going to do it but I have thought about it a little further.’
He added: ‘If any of my movies were going to spring from any of my movies, it would be the third Kill Bill.’
Kill Bill: Volume 1 was released in 2003 and saw The Bride, played by Thurman, take revenge on a team of assassins who tried to kill her and her unborn child on her wedding day.
At the end of Kill Bill: Volume 2, released in 2004, The Bride is unveiled (excuse the pun) as Beatrix Kiddo, and after killing all of the Deadly Vipers, she uses the ‘Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique’ on her former lover Bill (David Carradine) and kills him.
She then reunites with her daughter BB, now four, and leaves to start a new life – but we’re sure Tarantino could rustle up some ass-kicking for her to partake in over a decade on.
Uma, 49, is a muse for Tarantino, having starred as Mia Wallace in his legendary debut Pulp Fiction as well as The Bride.
However, her daughter Maya Hawke is set to continue her legacy, with the 21-year-old – Uma’s daughter with ex-husband Ethan Hawke – starring in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
The Stranger Things actress plays Flower Child, one of the members of Charles Manson’s Family, in the comedy-drama, which is set in 1969 against the backdrop of the Manson Family murders.
