Loose Women’s Gloria savages Rita Ora’s ‘disgusting behaviour’ over party rant
Loose Women star Gloria Hunniford was unable to hide her anger today after being asked about Rita Ora 's decision to break lockdown rules and host a birthday bash.
The I Will Never Let You Down songstress was snapped leaving a West London restaurant where she had a party for over 15 people to celebrate her 30th.
She had now issued an apology and offered to pay the £10,000 fine but Gloria says it's too little too late.
Speaking via video link, the star said: "This is an apology too late.
"I don't like the lockdown like a lot of people but I am going to do the best I can.
"I thought it was disgusting behaviour from Rita. I love her as a performer but it was a bad decision.
"When I saw the backlash and how people can't even go to see their dads in care homes or get married but she can have a party.
"Rita Ora can dress up glam and have guests. I think it's disgusting, it is not about the money.
"I couldn't care less if she gave them £1 million it is about the moral behaviour.
"I'm personally not a goodie-two-shoes but we have to all do our best.
"It is not about the money honey."
Agreeing, Judi Love said: "I had a big birthday, the big 4-0.
"I had all these big plans and they had to be changed so I had to filter it. No one was allowed in my home and only three people in the garden.
"For Rita I hope she had learnt from this and that many see it as insensitive.
"Some people can't get treatment for cancer due to Covid. Sometimes you have to take yourself out of the situation and think."
For once the panel were unanimous with even Janet Street Porter hitting out at the pop babe.
Giving her take on the situation, the no nonsense host said: "I disagree with the idea of fines.
"For someone like Rita £10,000 isn't a lot as she can earn that from performing at another rich person's party.
"I want to see fines like other countries – a proportion of your salary, income based fines.
"I do worry Rita has a huge number of fans and she influences a lot of young people. She had set a terrible example."
Posting on Instagram on Monday afternoon after images of her breaking the rules were splashed on the front page of The Sun, Rita said: "Hello all, I attended a small gathering with some friends to celebrate my 30th birthday.
"It was a spur of the moment decision made with the misguided view that we were coming out of lockdown and this would be OK… I'm deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk.
"This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgement. Given the restrictions, I realise how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility .
"I feel particularly embarrassed knowing first-hand how hard people have worked to combat this terrible illness and being fully aware of the sacrifices that people and businesses have made to help keep us all safe. Even though this won't make it right, I want to sincerely apologise."
