Love Island fans champion Yewande as she’s picked for date with new hunk Danny

She has become the unsung hero of this year’s Love Island, with fans backing the scientist since she arrived in the villa.

While many other Islanders have grabbed way more screen time than Yewande, 23, viewers have praised the Dublin native for her “cute” attitude and being the “total package”.

Yewande and Michael coupled up on the first episode of the series, but the pair have made it clear there’s no romance there.

After the duo enjoyed a smooch on a recent challenge, Yewande labelled the kiss “weird, but good”.

Last night’s episode revealed new boy Danny Williams had picked Yewande for a date.

The stunner revealed she was “super excited”.

After she received a text stating she should get ready, the boys of the villa cheered on the brunette beauty while the girls helped her get ready.

After dazzling in a white thigh-skimming dress, the island boys were soon lost for words.

An impressed Joe piled on the compliments: “You look unreal.”

While Anton chimed in: “Can I take you on a date?”

However, her date dreams may be shattered as Danny also picked Amber to wine and dine on his second date of the evening.

Fans took to social media to root for the smiley TV star.

One wrote: “Hopefully new guy likes Yewande more than Amber.”

Another put: “Danny you better be the one for Yewande.”

A third said: “Yewande and Danny have me holding out hope”

Despite the potential new couple, many are hoping something could happen between Yewande and Michael.

A fan chimed in: “Can Yewande and Michael realise that they belong together please?
