Love Island fans claim Medhi resents Whitney as they detect red flags
Love Island made for uncomfortable viewing on Sunday night (June 18), after Medhi Edno told off his partner Whitney Adebayo.
The couple, who appeared to be getting on previously, hit another stumbling block on the ITV2 show when Medhi accused Whitney of laughing during his recoupling speech.
Later on in the programme, Medhi spoke to entrepreneur Whitney about the incident.
He said: "When I was giving the speech you were giggling, to me that's disrespectful."
Whitney replied: "What giggling?"
Medhi responded: "You were laughing when I was doing the speech."
Trying to reassure him, Whitney said: "No, it wasn't that kind of laugh, it was shy. It was a good speech."
She then tried her best to move the conversation on and began talking about love languages, however the atmosphere remained tense as Medhi implied that he can't meet her requirements.
But viewers were left concerned with the exchange – with some claiming that Medhi may resent Whitney.
Heading to Twitter one social media user wrote: "Medhi’s resentment is starting to show up even the way he looks at Whitney is very scary."
Agreeing to the tweet another penned: "Agreed. I don’t like the way Medhi thinks he can tell Whitney how to behave. If she wants to giggle, she can giggle.
"If she wants to get into it with someone e.g. the Jess situation, she can. It’s not his place to control her behaviour. Massive red flag."
While a third said: "Medhi just doesn’t like her he was waiting for this opportunity."
This isn't the first time Medhi has come under fire from fans as he previously landed himself in another uncomfortable exchange when he believed Whitney was responsible for making Jess Harding cry.
Due to this, viewers seem to think that they may not be a match made in heaven after all.
Before heading into the villa of love, Medi, who is originally from France, said he has the ability to make girls fall in love with him.
He expressed: "I'm so excited to be going into the villa. I can bring fire and make girls fall in love with me."
"I’d simply start by speaking French, that usually gets girls interested," he explained.
