Love Island's Maura Higgins drops by Supermarket Sweep to pick up sun cream
Love Island’s Maura Higgins made a special guest appearance on tonight’s Supermarket Sweep as the show made its hotly-anticipated return after 12 years.
The reality star dropped by as contestants guessed that she’d accidentally left her receipt, which consisted of Irish stouts, love hearts, a bikini, lipgloss, a ‘teach yourself ballroom dancing’ book and some aftersun.
Presenter Rylan Clark-Neal, who’s taken over the reins from the late Dale Winton, revealed that Maura is ‘always’ doing a spot of grocery shopping as she emerged from the set.
‘I forgot to pick up my receipt,’ Maura confessed as Rylan laughed: ‘You always do it!’
Maura added: ‘I’ve got to pick up some sun cream as well, I totally forgot.’
‘Pop over to health and beauty and they’ll sort you out,’ Rylan offered and Maura continued on her merry way down the aisles.
But that wasn’t the last of Maura’s cameo though as she helped Rylan out later on in the show at the pick ‘n’ mix stand.
Explaining the rules, Maura revealed that contestants could win an extra £50 if they correctly bagged up five different types of sweets at a weight of 500g.
Iconic.
Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes also made an appearance on the show during the mystery VIP shopper round, which saw contestants hazard a guess as to who was roaming the aisles.
Eamonn was spotted reaching for potato waffles in the teaser clip while Ruth grabbed cereal as they did their weekly shop.
More famous faces are set to make appearances as the ninth series of Supermarket Sweep continues.
Tommy Fury has been confirmed to star, as well as Towie’s Pete Wicks and Bobby Norris and Made In Chelsea’s Georgia Toffolo.
There will also be a Love Island special which will see Ovie Soko, Belle Hassan, Anton Danyluk, India Reynolds and Chris Taylor take on challenges.
Supermarket Sweep airs Mondays at 8pm on ITV2.
