MAFS set for huge format shake up and next series will be the most explosive yet, star reveals | The Sun

MARRIED At First Sight expert Paul Carrick Brunson has opened up about the show's huge format shake up.

The 48-year-old confirmed that filming for the upcoming series of the much-loved E4 programme is underway.

Paul, who is an expert on the show alongside Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas, has revealed how the new series will differ from the last seven.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, for the first time ever all three experts will visit the couples’ apartments to deliver their relationship advice throughout the course of the show.

Paul said: “You'll see in this series we make visits to their apartments, myself, Charlene and Mel.

"It has happened individually before – did that sex visit to Kwame and Kasia, but this will be the first series that you see ALL of us make independent visits to their apartments, and group visits to help them along.

It comes after last month The Sun revealed the show's upcoming never-before-seen twist.

The new series will see a pansexual man tie the knot with a trans woman.

A TV source said: “Married At First Sight is one of Channel 4’s biggest shows but that hasn’t stopped them shying away from making bold steps in casting and format.

“This year’s cast includes a trans contributor who is paired with a pansexual man.

“Of course it has all the ingredients to be a real TV moment but bosses are also aware that they have to get this right – huge societal weight hangs on how this is presented and how it lands with viewers, never mind the fact there are real people involved who are more than just their gender.”

The first ever UK version of Married At First Sight hit our screens in 2015.

The show has gone on to have seven successful series, with the latest airing last year.

There are other series in Australia and America.
