Matty Barton makes heartbreaking confession in Emmerdale | The Sun
THE Dingles have grown accustomed to sparks flying even within their own clan.
When Matty Barton makes a shock confession, all hell breaks loose again in Emmerdale.
Moira Dingle (portrayed by Natalie J. Robb) is delighted when her son Matty (Ash Palmisciano) tells her his girlfriend Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) spontaneously proposed.
The couple have been put through the wringer in recent weeks, particularly due to Amy's son Kyle confessing to the murder of Al Chapman.
Matty appears uneasy and Moira can't help but notice his surprising mood at the thought of marrying Amy.
This prompts the Hide Bistro barista to confess to her his fear that Amy's proposal was part her plan to get full custody of Kyle.

Moira is incensed by Amy's intentions but, in later scenes, she finds herself having to calm her husband Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) down as the hot-tempered villager bangs on Amy's door, ready to shout the odds over her plan.
Matty may be right to doubt Amy's intentions.
In scenes prior to this, he fails to hide his inner conflict when he asks Amy if getting sole custody of Kyle is the best thing for the child.
Following the young boy's involvement in Al Chapman's shocking death, Amy has grown increasingly convinced that his father Cain is a bad influence on him and she's determined to keep the two separate.

Cain does have a reputation of getting himself into explosive feuds that often include violence as he's never afraid to throw punches.
Amy ignores Matty's attempt to reason with her and tries to remain strong for her son ahead of his hearing.
Cain, on the other hand, feels powerless and takes action the only way he knows how – with a display of strength.
