But what about the children? Well it would seem everything that has happened is beginning to effect eldest of the children – Max, (Harry McDermott) as concern for him grows after an act of violence that shocks Shona (Julia Goulding).
David is in prison due to his involvement with stealing his grandmother Audrey’s (Sue Nicholls) money. David’s brother Nick (Ben Price) was also involved in the theft but betrayed David and blamed his brain injury for his actions.
Soon Nick finds Max in Victoria Garden smashing up plant pots. When Nick tries to stop him, Max takes a swing at Nick, blaming him for the fact that David is in prison.
Shona and Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) prepare for Lily’s (Brooke Malonie) birthday party. Max is playing up and pretending to take his ADHD medicine he pockets the tablets. When Nick arrives with Lily’s present Max kicks off and Shona has to ask everyone to leave.
Shona is furious at Max for ruining Lily’s party. She admits to Audrey and Sarah (Tina O’Brien) that he has been like this for weeks and she is at the end of her tether. Checking his medicine box she finds it empty but Max produces a packet from his pocket and insists he is taking them.
The troubled teen is clearly finding it hard to adjust to lift without David, but is this storyline heading for something a whole lot darker? After his act of violence we will certainly be left wondering what’s next for Max…
