May the Fourth Be With Reylo Stans and Palpatine Fans – 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' Joins Disney+ on May 4
You don’t have to travel to a galaxy far, far away to enjoy these movies. In fact, now more than ever, it’s easier for Star Wars fans to binge-watch movies from the Skywalker Saga and even original shows exclusive to Disney’s streaming platform. Here are a few of the Star Wars movies coming to Disney+ on May 4, including the final movie in the sequel trilogy, The Rise of Skywalker.
‘The Rise of Skywalker’ joins the Disney+ streaming library on May 4
Fans saw Rey go from a scavenger to a Jedi to an honorary Skywalker. This character first appeared in The Force Awakens and since then, became a favorite among Star Wars fans worldwide.
A few months after its theatrical release, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker joined the Disney+ streaming library. This is the last film from the Skywalker Saga missing from the streaming platform, making it a magical “May the Fourth” indeed.
“What began in 1977 with George Lucas’ groundbreaking film Star Wars: A New Hope, the nine-part saga is available within Disney+’s extensive collection of Star Wars movies and series including The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” Disney said in a statement.
All 9 films in the Skywalker Saga are available on this streaming platform
The force is strong with this franchise. The Rise of Skywalker is the last Star Wars movie of the Skywalker Saga added to Disney+. That means fans can binge-watch all 9 movies, including the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, and the sequel trilogy.
There are also movies based in the Star Wars universe, like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Unfortunately, Solo: A Star Wars Story is still missing from Disney’s streaming platform and it will reportedly be added during July 2020. Until then, there’s plenty of original content available for binge-watching.
May the Fourth also welcomes the finale of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ and ‘Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian’
In addition to movies like The Rise of Skywalker, there is plenty of original content available on this streaming platform. After the series came to an abrupt end, Disney+ brought back the animated series, The Clone Wars for one more season. Although episodes appeared on a weekly basis, the final episode premieres on May 4.
Additionally, Disney+ premieres its original docu-series, Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, which explores the process behind creating the streaming platform’s original television show. This 8-episode special features director and writer Jon Favreau, as well as a roundtable discussion with some of the cast members.
The Baby Yoda (and regular-sized Yoda) content doesn’t stop there. All episodes of the first season of this live-action series are available on the streaming platform, in addition to Star Wars television shows like Star Wars Rebels and Lego Star Wars: The New Yoda Chronicles.
