Michael Owen left red-faced as hes asked about Love Island daughter Gemma

Michael Owen was left red-faced on Tuesday after being introduced as "the father of Love Island’s Gemma Owen" ahead of England's match against Germany during

The former footballer, 42, appeared on Channel 4 for the Live UEFA Nations League in Germany while working as a pundit and it wasn't long until talk turned to Gemma, 19, after she made her debut in the villa on Monday night.

At the beginning of their Nations League fixture, presenter Jules Breach said: "The father of Love Island’s Gemma Owen, Michael Owen here with us, a big night for the Owens last night, Michael, how are you feeling today?"

To which Michael put his hands over his face before replying: "Jules, I came all the way to Germany to try and avoid all that back at home, but you've brought it up straight away."

He added: "I am feeling alright thank you. This is taking my mind off it so don’t bring it back up."

Michael's daughter Gemma made her Love Island debut on Monday night, where she was coupled up with Liam Llewellyn.

However, Tuesday's episode saw new bombshell Davide Sanclimenti pick Gemma during an explosive recoupling.

On Monday, Davide received a text which read: "Davide, in 24 hours you will couple up with a girl of your choice, leaving one boy single and vulnerable #italiansnack #ciaobella."

Over the course of Tuesday’s episode, Davide could be seen chatting to various singletons within the villa as he tried to make his tough decision regarding who to choose.

After an agonising consideration, Davide received a text on Tuesday's episode asking all Islanders to gather at the fire pit for his decision.

Standing before his fellow Islanders at the fire pit, Davide said: "Naturally, it’s not been easy to choose because it’s only been 24 hours. It’s difficult to try and know everyone and try to make the right decision."

He said: "There's not just attraction, yes she's a stunning girl, I felt we had a good time and I'd like to know her more."

However, it was revealed in another twist at the end of the show that two new bombshells are entering the villa with the public picking who they go on dates with.
