Michael Rainey Jr shot to fame as James “Ghost” St Patrick’s (played by Omari Hardwick) son Tariq in the original Power series. When the Starz show came to an end in February, it was also announced there would be several spin-off shows, including one starring Rainey as Tariq. Since Power Book II: Ghost started in September, Tariq has got himself caught up in plenty of trouble.

Tariq is desperately trying to earn as much money as possible to pay for defense lawyer David McLean (Method Man) to represent mum Tasha (Naturi Naughton) who is in prison for killing Ghost.
To do so, Tariq is selling drugs on his college campus with fellow dealer and business partner Monet Tejada (Mary J Blige) keeping an eye on him.
This isn’t the only problem Tariq has as he has now found himself in a love triangle with Lauren Baldwin (Paige Hurd) and Diane Tejada (LaToya Tonodeo).
But is there another love in actor Rainey’s life when he is away from the camera.
Is Power Book 2’s Tariq star in a relationship?
In mid-2019, Rainey reportedly started dating 18-year-old Ugandan model Eva Apio.
Her mum is Ugandan supermodel Eva Mbabazi so it seems she followed in her footsteps.
Apio lives in the UK with her mum and is currently under the management of Storm LA.
When she got together with actor Rainey, the pair looked very much loved up.

While they didn’t discuss each other in interviews, they did post numerous pictures of one another on Instagram.
One of the first posts of them together shows Rainey standing behind Apio with his arms around her and the caption: “My lil one.”
Another picture which Apio shared shows the couple lying in bed together with Rainey asleep.
She jokingly posted: “Do you ever just wanna slap them to wake up because you’re bored or they look too peaceful?”
However, these posts have now been deleted from both of their Instagram accounts.

As of writing this article, the young Power actor is now believed to be single.
There are no suggestions as to when Rainey and Apio broke up but there are no further signs of one another on either of their social media pages.
The former couple also haven’t indicated the reason behind the split so the break-up has been very much behind closed doors.
Following her relationship with Rainey, Apio was with Instagram personality Father DMW earlier this year but this also seems to have ended.
Power Book II is currently not on our screens as it’s in the middle of a midseason hiatus.
Episode five of the Power spin-off series was shown on Sunday, October 4.
However, the show’s creators have confirmed the story will continue in December after filming the second half of the season.
