CBS’ long-running procedural drama is expected to return in the new year and a familiar face will be making an appearance in the episode. Amanda Schull who starred alongside Meghan Markle in Netflix’s Suits has been cast in NCIS.
Amanda Schull is well known for her role on 12 Monkeys and for her portrayal as Katrina Bennett in the legal drama Suits.
In the upcoming episode 10 titled ‘Pledge of Allegiance,’ she will play a woman named Kay Barlow.
While her storyline is yet to be seen, Kay will somehow be tied to the case the NCIS team will be investigating.
The promo for the episode revealed the team will be called after Navy Chief Warrant Officer Rafi Nazar (played by Artur Zai Benson) is accused of attempting to sell classified Navy software which had been stolen.
The technology had been used to pilot combat drones, so the team will have to hurry to ensure it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands.
With Amanda being a renowned actress in the industry, it’s likely she will have a major role in the episode.
The show released an image of her character standing next to Alden Parker (Gary Cole), he was pictured holding her arm as they both had a concerned look on their faces.
Alden recently took over as an agent after fan-favourite Gibbs (Mark Harmon) left after 19 years as the Special Agent in Charge.
While Amanda’s appearance hasn’t been labelled as a recurring role, Suits fans will be delighted to see the actress grace the screens again.
Although she has kept busy since her departure from Suits with two Hallmark Original movies, fans hope to see the actress have a decent amount of screen time on NCIS.
Amanda’s character was a fan favourite on Suits where she often shared the screen with Meghan Markle’s Rachel Zane.
The two often worked together on cases and shared mutual respect for each other, which was seen when Rachel asked her corporate attorney father Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) to hire Katrina as his associate – which he did.
After joining Suits in season two, Amanda stayed until the season nine finale, which was the final episode of the series overall.
Having started the show as an Assistant District Attorney and aspiring lawyer, Katrina became a corporate attorney and also a named partner at the firm.
Away from the cameras, Amanda and Meghan were close friends as she was one of the stars spotted at the Royal Wedding.
Since it first premiered in 2003 NCIS is well known for having familiar faces guest-star on the series.
Some of the big names to have been cast in the beloved drama include Michelle Obama, Millie Bobby Brown, Zac Efron, Graham McTavish and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Fans have predicted Amanda’s character will be involved in the crime and could potentially be a villain.
Viewers will have to withstand the show’s current mid-season break to find out more about Kay Barlow.
NCIS season 19 returns to CBS Monday, January 3.
