After pushing him off a cliff and causing Finn amnesia, allowing him to forget about his past criminal endeavours, Susan welcomed the reformed villain to stay with her family.

The perpetrator had caused the soap stalwart and her nieces, Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta) and Bea Nilsson (Bonnie Anderson), a tremendous amount of grief but the headmistress saw his memory loss as an opportunity to give him a second chance.

Unfortunately, the months which followed saw his devilish ways begin to resurface and just before his death, he kidnapped his saviour and held her hostage.

Many of her fellow Ramsay Street residents seem to have forgotten about the turmoil she was put through in Finn’s final hours and this will lead to a mental health struggle for her.

The stalwart already has health difficulties as she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis over a decade ago and her condition has affected her on many occasions.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, soap star Jackie discussed the turmoil her character will be going through and the latest health struggles she will face.

Asked if Finn’s death would lead her MS to rear its head, the actress explained: “Not so much. I’m glad I didn’t kind of go that way because we’ve seen that and certainly the stress factors to increase your symptoms.”

Talking about how the pressure will affect her alter-ego’s state of mind, the soap star added: “It’s more complete loss of self-confidence of belief in herself or her ability to make decisions.”

She’s gonna start over

“She finds herself in situations where she feels panicked and unable to function normally,” Jackie continued.

“So everything that she’s ever held to be true is now completely rocked. She’s gonna start over.

“She’s a very strong woman and she has been through so much and always, like a phoenix, she’s risen up.

“But this time, her fundamental core beliefs have been shattered. She’s always trusted people always given them the benefit of the doubt.”

“[She’s] always believed that people are inherently good and all of that has been completely smashed. So where does she go from there?”

As a respected member of the community, however, and not wanting to jeopardise this, will she fail to confide in her loved ones about the turmoil she is going through?

Will she continue to put up a brave front, hoping in time the guilt she feels over Finn will disappear and then she can rebuild her strength?

Despite the MS not playing a significant part in this storyline, viewers have seen the effects of her ordeal with the villain playing havoc on her physical wellbeing.
