Neymar Jr realises his dream as he makes acting debut as a monk
Neymar Jr has made his acting debut as a monk in La Casa De Papel and the irony is killing us.
The Paris Saint-Germain player revealed his brief cameo as a monk in the popular Spanish series – also known as Money Heist in English – about pulling off the biggest ‘heist’ in recorded history.
He tweeted: ‘I was able to realise my dream and be part of my favourite series, And now I can share Joao with you all! Thank you @lacasadepapel!’
Now that he’s ‘realised’ his dream, does anyone think he’s going to keep trying to become an actor?
The 27 year old was over the moon despite having a small role in the third season of the crime drama.
‘I don’t like football nor partying. At the World Cup, I always pray for our team,’ Neymar’s character Joao says.
The writers’ sense of humour knows no bounds if they managed to get the world’s most expensive footballer to make fun of his own lifestyle.
The Spanish-language show, which has a criminal mastermind attempt to print a million euros in the Royal Mint in Madrid has already broken audience records in Spain, with Neymar’s new cameo likely only to boost audience figures even further.
Neymar, who also plays for the Brazil national football team, was originally edited out of the episode due to his ongoing rape accusations.
However, once the Brazilian police dropped their investigation due to insufficient evidence last month, Netflix re-released the episodes to include the PSG forward.
He was accused of raping a woman in a hotel in Paris back in May, according to a police document in Brazil.
Neymar denied all allegations against the woman and many, including his father, believed the accusation was ‘a setup’ against the star.
Now that the footballer is back on his feet, it looks as though he’s doing as much as he can.
His character has him wearing the show’s classic boiler suit and Salvador Dali mask combination when appears on episode six and eight.
La Casa De Papel is available to watch on Netflix.
