Paul Gascoigne breaks down in tears on GMB after being cleared of sexual assault
Paul Gascoigne was in tears on Good Morning Britain today as he discussed his "year from hell"
The former professional footballer was on GMB today to discuss a recent court case.
And the star became emotional as he chatted to hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard.
He told them: "I spent the whole year telling people I did nothing wrong."
Gazza was in court accused of sexual assault after kissing a woman on a train, however he was found not guilty.
The star said he had been "scared" about what could have happened over the case.
He described the situation as "the year from hell".
Gazza walked free from court on Thursday after being cleared by a jury.
The kiss took place after the star boarded the 17.31 train from York to Newcastle on August 20 last year.
He was on his way to Tyneside after spending a week with his nephews Cameron, 16, and Joe, 14.
In court, Gascoigne was said to have kissed the woman without her consent for four seconds in front of other rail passengers.
However, he argued he was 'comforting' the woman because of his hatred of bullying.
Gascoigne also wept in the dock when he was cleared on sexual assault last Thursday.
As he left court, the star wiped his eye with a tissue and hugged his agent.
In a closing speech to the jury, Michelle Heeley QC, defending, told jurors the Gascogine kissed a woman who was not expecting it and did not like it, but that did not make him a sex offender.
Gascoigne has also been known to suffer alcoholism in the past, however he said he's remained sober for six months.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.
