Paul refuses to attend the wedding in Corrie as his MND symptoms get worse
Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) started to develop mobility problems in his foot in Wednesday’s (May 24) episode of Coronation Street, another sign his Motor Neurone Disease is progressing.
The beloved character still hasn’t told his friends and family that he’s dying and tonight, that impacted his sister’s upcoming wedding to Chesney (Sam Aston).
Paul was thrilled when Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) asked to walk her down the aisle and his good mood continued as he headed to the hospital with Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) to talk about a possible MND treatment.
The nurse explained the complications that come with being tested for the Tofersen treatment, telling Paul that he may not even be allowed to have it if he doesn’t carry a specific gene.
Paul desperately tried to remain hopeful, but he knew that even if he was accepted, it would just help him manage the illness as right now, there isn’t a cure for MND.
Paul carried his low mood as he entered the pub for Gemma and Chesney’s stag and hen dos.
He stuck to sitting on a chair and drinking beer and once Gemma played Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble, Paul’s anger rose, of course unable to dance with Gemma with his badly working foot.
Outside, Gemma thought Paul’s limping was down to the fact he had drunk too much so he lashed out, telling his sister that he’s absolutely sick of the wedding plans.
Gemma told her twin that if he didn’t care, then he wouldn’t be welcome at the wedding.
But with the event just days away, will anyone change Paul’s mind about attending?
