Petition to Have Danny DeVito as the New Wolverine Gets Over 25,000 Signatures
27,000 people and counting agree that the ‘Dumbo’ star should replace Hugh Jackman as the clawed mutant when the character makes appearance in Marvel Cinematic Universe.
AceShowbiz -Now Marvel has got a candidate to play Wolverine should the character appear in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following Hugh Jackman‘s retirement as the clawed mutant, fans have now suggested that Danny DeVito should be cast to replace the Australian actor in the role.
One person who proposed this has launched an online petition on Change.org. “The only man able to take the throne after Hugh Jackman. We believe that if Wolverine is to make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that the only man able to pull it off is Danny DeVito,” the petition reads.
“A couple good reasons as to why I believe so strongly that he suits the character: Danny DeVito’s height is a lot closer to the comic books portrayal of Wolverine. With Danny being 4’10” and Wolverine 5’3″. Secondly, we all saw Danny’s portrayal of the Trashman. So, we know he is fully capable of fighting, and that he is not afraid when things get dirty!” it continues.
Within a few days after the petition was launched, more than 27,000 people have signed it. “It’s f**king Danny Devito, enough said,” one argued. Another enthused, “This is the most important cause I’ve ever supported.”
Someone else commented on the petition, “We need a true acting legend to portray wolverine. Yeaaaaaaaaassh!!!!!! Ahhhhhhh!!!” Another wrote, “He isn’t the wolverine we deserve but he is the wolverine we need.”
But there’s very little to no chance that Marvel will ever consider DeVito as the Wolverine depicter. At 4’10”, the “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star is actually more diminutive than comic-book Wolverine. He is also not at his prime age, being 74, with health issue becoming a main concern for the physically-demanding role.
