Piers Morgan back on GMB next week as he’s set to host show daily in role change
Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has confirmed that he is returning to the ITV breakfast show on Monday.
The 55-year-old outspoken star and his co-host Susanna Reid are currently taking an extended break from presenting duty due to the half-term.
Piers has been missing in action from GMB for the past week, with some fans concerned as he didn't appear on Monday's show after taking some time off last week.
The likes of Kate Garraway, Ranvir Singh, Charlotte Hawkins, Adil Ray and Alex Beresford have taken over the reins of GMB in place of Piers and Susanna.
But Piers was happy to confirm he will be back behind the desk on Monday morning and revealed we'll be seeing even more of him on Good Morning Britain next week.
The former newspaper editor revealed that he will front the show every day next week from Monday to Friday.
Piers never usually hosts the show on a Friday but he couldn't wait to share the exciting news with his millions of fans.
Replying to one of his followers, Piers said: "Been promoting my book Paul, but we're back every day next week in a rare 5-day treat for the nation."
His announcement sparked a social media split, with some viewers glad to have him back and for even longer, while others told him they'd enjoyed his absence.
One responded: "Thank god you’re back next week. It’s just too bland and 'nice' when you’re not there. You’ve had way too many days off this year already."
In agreement, another added: "Finally at last it's been so boring no offence meant (sic) but bland comes to mind.
A third gushed: "Massively looking forward to a five day treat from Monday."
"I’m missing you too @piersmorgan my mornings aren’t the same. Please come back," a fourth wrote.
However, a fifth person posted: "Treat for the nation? Do me a favour.
While another replied: "Damn! I thought he’d been sacked."
Good Morning Britain turned awkward on Tuesday as Lord Jeffrey Archer slammed Piers Morgan 's new book.
GMB regulars Andrew Pierce and Kevin Maguire appeared on Tuesday's show to discuss the latest news with hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins.
Journalists Andrew and Kevin were joined by former cricketer and novelist Jeffrey, who has recently released his latest book Hidden In Plain Sight.
Discussing his new novel, presenter Charlotte pointed out: "There's a lot of books at the moment isn't there?
"Piers has got his book out. Are you worried about the competition on that front?"
Jeffrey replied: "Good heavens no. He's top of division three fighting to get into division two.
"I'm only sorry he's not there this morning to fight back because I do like a little punch up with Piers."
He added: "No good luck to him because he's very good on television and he's very good on his cricket, but forget the book, Piers.
"I shall not be searching on the best-sellers list for it."
Charlotte, 45, continued: "I suspect he's not going to let you forget that comment."
"No he won't," Jefferey added.
Jeffrey's comments left Piers' GMB co-stars in hysterics, with gasps heard off camera.
